Grow Light Visualizer

Welcome to the Unlikely Gardener's Grow Light Visualization Tool! This interactive calculator helps you to plan and optimize your indoor growing setup by visualizing light coverage patterns and calculating PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) values at different heights. It doesn't deliver a PAR Map like the PAR Map Generator, but both can be used together to get a better idea of how light coverage is affecting your plants.

Simply select your light type, enter the specifications from your product documentation, and adjust the height to see how your grow light will perform. The tool shows you coverage areas from multiple viewing angles and provides real-time calculations to help you achieve optimal light distribution for your plants.

Choose the type of grow light you're planning to use for your setup.
Check your light's product documentation for this specification.
Found in product documentation. If uncertain, use 120°.
The longest dimension of your light fixture.
The shortest dimension of your light fixture.
The diameter of your circular light fixture.
Distance from light to plant canopy.

Important Notice

PPFD values shown are approximations only and representative of the most intense portion of the light output at the height shown. This tool calculates light distribution based on treating your grow light as a single point source rather than calculating the individual contribution of every LED in the array. Actual PPFD values may vary significantly depending on LED arrangement, lens design, reflector configuration, and other factors. For precise measurements, use a quantum meter (PAR meter) to measure actual light levels in your growing environment.
