Organelles are the tiny working parts inside each plant cell that keep the plant alive and functioning. Each one has a specific job, such as making energy, storing water, or building new cell material.
For gardeners, organelles explain everyday plant behaviour. Chloroplasts help leaves stay green and grow under good light, while the central vacuole holds water and keeps plants firm and upright. When conditions are poor, such as low light or drought, these internal systems slow down or break down, leading to yellowing, wilting, or weak growth.
