Field Capacity

Field capacity is the amount of water soil holds after excess water has drained away, leaving it moist but not soggy. At this point, the soil has a good balance of water and air, which is ideal for healthy roots. For plant parents, this is the “just right” level of moisture after watering, when the soil feels evenly damp but not dripping. In simple terms, it’s the soil’s optimal moisture level for plant growth.
