Agronomic

Agronomic refers to the science and practice of crop production and soil management, particularly as it relates to agriculture. The term is used to describe methods, traits, practices, inputs, or outcomes that affect the growth, yield, quality, and management of cultivated plants.

In horticultural and agricultural research, an agronomic benefit is a measurable improvement in plant performance, such as increased yield, faster growth, improved nutrient use efficiency, greater stress tolerance, reduced disease pressure, or enhanced crop quality. Agronomic recommendations are typically based on field performance, economic viability, and practical application rather than biological effects alone.

A product may produce a biological response without delivering a meaningful agronomic benefit. For example, a treatment might alter root growth or microbial activity but fail to improve plant growth, yield, quality, or profitability under real-world conditions.
