Abscisic Acid (ABA)

Abscisic acid, or ABA, is a plant hormone best known for regulating stress responses and dormancy. It helps plants cope with drought by triggering stomatal closure, which reduces water loss, and it also promotes seed and bud dormancy. ABA is generally considered a growth-inhibiting hormone, especially compared with growth-promoting hormones like auxin and gibberellins.
